Roofing
• How can a homeowner recognize when a roof system has problems?
- The first sign is water marks on your interior ceilings or actual leaks.
- There will be a large amount of granules in your gutters.
- The corners of the shingles look as if they are turning upwards.
- The shingles look as if they are curving which is called cupping.

Asphalt shingles and metal are the most common

It depends on the age and condition of the shingles.
A proper inspection could determine that a vent boot or chimney flashing has deteriorated. Or possibly a tree limb has penetrated the shingle.
• Can I Do The Work Myself and Save Money?
Highly doubtful unless you have some experience in the industry.
• How Long Can I Expect My Roof System To Last?
Today from 30 to 50 years.

An experienced roofing specialist can explain all that to you.
• What will a new roof system cost?
This depends on many variables such as the quality of material used and complexity of your roof design as well as the pitch of your roof trusses.
• And what if my new roof leaks? Then what?
A reputable roofing contractor will provide you with a multi-year “workmanship” warranty on work performed in the installation of your roof.
• I have vegetation growth (moss/algae) on my roof. Does it need to be replaced or can it be cleaned?
Depending on the age and condition of the roof it can be cleaned.
• How can you tell if a roofer is bad?
The 3 best ways are: reviews on line, word of mouth, or reluctance to give you the name and address of their last 3 customers.
• Can a roof be done in one day?
• How many times can you reroof a house?
There is no limit. I believe your question refers to how many layers of shingles can you put on a roof at one time. You should never have more than one layer.
